Tehran - Iranian Defence Minister Hussein Dehghan and his Iraqi counterpart Khalid al-Obeidi signed here on Tuesday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on defence cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides concluded the second round of talks, which was held today in Tehran between the Ministers of the two countries within the framework of the official visit by the Iraqi Minister to Iran.
The MoU highlighted the areas of defence cooperation between the two countries, as provided for confirmation of the two sides on the implementation of bilateral understandings.
The two sides stressed the need for consultation in order to ensure the security of the region from the terrorism which does not threaten the security of Iraq alone, but leaves its impact on the security of the entire region.
