Pakistani community marks Qatar National Day and Sindhi Cultural Day

Doha: QSindhis, a community forum of Pakistanis, recently organised its 7th Pakistan Sindhi Cultural Day on the eve of Qatar National Day at Retaj Salwa Resort. 

The event was attended by notable personalities including Ambassador of Pakistan, H E Syed Ahsan Raza Shah; Pakistan Embassy’s Community Welfare Attaches, Waheedullah Wazir and Arsalan Tanoli along with heads of various Pakistani community forums.

The community members, their families and children were dressed in a graceful Sindhi cultural attires with Ajrak and Sindhi caps reflecting unity and pride in Sindh’s rich culture.

Muhammad Sheikh and Lateef Memon welcomed the chief guest of the event Syed Ahsan Raza Shah. Junaid Sarwar thanked CWA of Pakistan Embassy Waheedullah Wazir for his support and Ministry of Culture, Government of Sindh, Pakistan for sponsoring the stars of Sindh, Zamin Ali and Deeba Sehar, who performed with their full potential to entertain the gathering. M Ali Rajper delivered the welcome speech in which he briefed about the history of Sindh, Pakistan.

QSindhis little stars also participated in the event where Rania Muhammad (Student of Pakistan International School Qatar) gave the presentation named ‘Journey to Sindh’, consisting of detailed information about traditions and culture of Sindh.

QSindhis Core Committee members Omair Rind, Iftikhar Jatoi, Atif Dogar, Riaz Shaikh, Jaam Feroz,  Abdullah Soomro, Aftab Abro, Haneef Abro, Tariq Mangrio, Adnan Qureshi, Maqsood Mangi and Adnan Soomro took the opportunity to present Ajraks, Sindhi caps and shields to all notable guests from Pakistan Embassy, Principle of Pakistan International School among others.

Syed Ahsan Raza Shah awarded the shields to Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed Tago & Dr. Shabnam Jatoi for serving the community during COVID-19 pandemic. The Ambassador also awarded the shields to Zarish Rind and Mahnoor Rind who specially travelled from Sindh, Pakistan to volunteer their services for FIFA Arab Cup 2021.

Syed Ahsan Raza Shah lauded Sindhi community’s efforts in promoting inter community unity. Talking to community, he congratulated core committee of QSindhis for organizing a mega cultural event where all communities took part and celebrated the colors of rich Sindh’s Culture. Moreover, he congratulated the leadership of the host country on successful hosting of FIFA Arab Cup 2021.
