Doha: The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani yesterday chaired the weekly meeting of the Cabinet at the Emiri Diwan.
Following the meeting, the Deputy Premier and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, H E Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, said the Cabinet approved a proposal from the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning to amend rules of the rental disputes settlement committees in order to speed up settlement of disputes between landlords and tenants.
The Cabinet also approved the proposal of the Minister of Education and Higher Education, who is also Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council, reorganise the equalisation certificates committee and improve the committee’s functioning.
It agreed a draft decision on terms of licensing providers of global business consultancy services in view of the outstanding services provided by them to the state in the fields of trade and finance.
In addition, the Cabinet approved a draft agreement for cooperation in the field of culture between the governments of Qatar and Kosovo, and a draft agreement for cooperation in the legal field between the governments of Qatar and Peru.
The Cabinet also took the necessary measures for ratifying a framework convention on economic, trade, investment and technical cooperation between the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and the United States of America.
It also took steps to ratify an agreement on legal cooperation between the governments of Qatar and Pakistan, and an agreement on cooperation on endowments and Islamic affairs between the two governments.
