Malabo, Equatorial Guinea--Five facts on the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final between Algeria and the Ivory Coast in Malabo on Sunday:
-- Algeria and Ivory Coast have met five times at the Cup of Nations with two victories each and a draw. Both Ivorian triumphs were by 3-0 scorelines and one of the Algerian successes was by the same score.
-- The Desert Foxes of Algeria were ranked first in Africa and 18th in the world by FIFA this month while the Elephants of Ivory Coast were third in Africa and 28th in the world.
-- Algeria have a poor Cup of Nations quarter-finals record with only one win from four games. Having lost to South Africa, Cameroon and Morocco, they stunned Ivory Coast 3-2 in Angola five years ago.
-- Ivory Coast have fared better at the last-eight stage, winning four games, drawing two and losing two. The drawn matches went to penalty shootouts with the west Africans winning one and losing the other.
-- Algeria were the most prolific scorers in the group stage with five goals, including one each from English Premier League pair Riyad Mahrez of Leicester City and Nabil Bentaleb of Tottenham Hotspur.
