Doha, Qatar: The Shura Council on Monday participated in a parliamentary webinar organised by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in partnership with the International Parliament Engagement Network, under the title ‘Public Engagement in Parliamentary Work on Climate Change’.
Shura Council member H E Khalid bin Abbas Kamal Al Emadi represented the Council in the webinar.
The webinar touched on the contribution of parliamentarians in effectively engaging the public in the IPU’s climate initiative; and the role of parliaments in the Escazu Agreement, an international treaty ratified by 24 Latin American and Caribbean countries, concerned with the public engagement on environmental issues in Latin America.
