Doha: The Awqaf (Islamic Endowments) and Islamic Affairs Ministry has signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Aljazeera Media Training and Development Centre (JMTDC) to train imams and preachers.
The MoU was signed by Khalid Ali Juhar, Executive Director for Human Resources and administrstive affairs at the JMTDC, and Mohamed Hassan Al Malki, Human Resources Department Director at the ministry.
Ali Juhar said the MoU mainly focus on training and updating the skills of the ministry’s associates totalling 200 imams and preachers on a series of media axes and communication skills with the public.
The MoU represents a framework for media cooperation between the two countries especially in the training , development and consulting field and reflects the ministry’s desire to benefit from the JMTDC’s expertise and know-how in this respect.
Munir Daeimi, the Director of Aljazeera Media Training and Development Centre said: The MoU establishes a framework for the relationship between the Ministry of Endowments and Al jazeera network, and will be followed by other detailed memos in specific programmes. This is not the first local or international cooperation for the centre with the ministries, agencies and institutions. The centre has already signed other cooperation memos with the Ministry of Labour and the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning and Qatar TV.
