Jaipur: At least seven people, including three students from a Delhi institute, were killed and 33 injured in two road accidents in Rajasthan yesterday, police said. Three students, including two girls, were killed and three others injured when their car overturned near Jaisalmer, some 500km from Jaipur, police inspector Jetha Ram said.
The six students had come to Jaisalmer from Delhi Saturday and were returning after spending a night at a resort when the accident occurred around 10.30am, he said. The identities of the students were being confirmed.
The injured students were undergoing treatment at a hospital in Jodhpur.
In another accident, four passengers were killed and 30 injured when their bus fell into a gorge in Bengu area of Chittorgarh district, some 300 km from Jaipur.
The deceased included an infant, a police officer said.
Delhi policeman killed in Mishap
New Delhi: A 25-year-old Delhi Police constable was killed in a road accident when the motorcycle he was riding pillion on was hit by a municipal corporation garbage truck, police said yesterday. The motorcycle rider was injured but is said to be out of danger. The incident took place around 10pm Saturday in Model Town area of north Delhi when constable Ajendra was returning home from duty on a motorcycle he had taken a lift on.
