Palestinians burn tyres in fields to mark Land Day in the village of Khuzaa, east of Khan Yunis, yesterday. The day is observed in remembrance of six Arab Israeli protesters who were shot dead by Israeli police and troops during mass demonstrations in 1976 against plans to confiscate Arab land in the Galilee.
