Doha: Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani received FIFA T-shirt from FIFA president HE Gianni Infantino during the FIFA Congress.
The 72nd FIFA Congress took place today at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC).
Prime Minister said that hosting the tournament will not be a passing event, and we see it as a new beginning for the way tournaments in the future will be hosted.
There are great benefits that will accrue to countries around the world through the World Cup's legacy, he added.
He noted that the tournament has a special importance to Qatar as it will put the country's name on the global tourism map.
