Doha, Qatar: Al Arabi secured the Qatar Men’s Handball League title after a 27-27 draw against Al Duhail in the season finale at Al Duhail Sports Hall on Sunday.
The result was enough to keep Al Arabi top of the table with 51 points, four clear of Al Duhail, who finished second on 47. Al Rayyan claimed third place with 42 points.
It is Al Arabi’s second straight league title and the fourth in the club’s history, following earlier triumphs in the 1982-83 and 2019-20 seasons.
Qatar Handball Association President Ahmed Mohammed Al Shaabi and Al Arabi Sports Club President Sheikh Tamim bin Fahd Al-Thani presented the league shield and gold medals to captain Anis Al Zawawi. Al Sadd finished fourth with 37 points, followed by Al Ahli in fifth on 35 and Al Wakrah in sixth with 34. Al Gharafa placed seventh with 31 points, ahead of Al Khor in eighth with 30, Qatar SC in ninth with 28, and Al Shamal in tenth with 25.
