DOHA: A planetarium with advanced technology has been designed by an expert at the Qatar University and is likely to be built before 2022.
Dr Khalid Shams Abdul Qadir at the Qatar University has designed the planetarium to educate people about astronomy and the space science, reported Al Sharq. It will have a separate section to showcase Arab astronomy and Quranic astronomy. An individual telescope yard will be set at the designed planetarium to attract visitors and also to educate students.
The planetarium will present educational and entertainment shows. Scenes of stars, planets and other celestial objects will be made to appear and move realistically to simulate the complex ‘motions of the heavens.
The celestial scenes will be created using a wide variety of technologies and the planetarium to become outstanding in the region.
