DOHA: Qatar University has announced that an orientation programme for new male students will be held from September 4 to September 7. Newly enrolled female students will have their orientation sessions from September 8 to September 11.
The admission department said that classes for undergraduate students started last Thursday, Al Sharq reported.
The orientation programme is aimed at familiarising new students with the study environment at the university and their fellow students. The programme also familiarises the students with their courses of study and the participants listen to stories from current QU students and learn about the academic support and student services available, register for classes online and collect their QU ID cards.
It is mandatory for every new student to attend the orientation programme, and students who fail to attend will not be able to register or attend the Fall 2014 semester classes.
