Doha: Friends Circle Qatar in association with Fahad International Events Management will organise their First Asian Schools football tournament at Wakra Sports Club on November 8, the organisers informed here yesterday.
The invitational tournament will see participation from all the Asian schools based here in Qatar.
The main aim of the tournament is to promote sports at the school level among the Asian communities. The tournament organisers also plan to build a fan base for football in Qatar among the Asian communities and are targeting the young children to carry forward the message.
Indian, Pakistan, Sri Lankan, Bangladesh and Philippine schools will be seen in action in the one-day tournament which will be played on a League-cum-knock out system.
Some of the invited schools are Pak Shama School, Bangladesh School, Sri Lankan School, MES, Ideal Indian School, DMIS, Shanti Niketan School, Bhavani, DPS and Birla Public School.The Peninsula
