Expensive Musa strikes again for Leicester

Paris: Ahmed Musa repaid another instalment of the transfer fee Leicester City forked out to CSKA Moscow with the equaliser in a 1-1 weekend draw at Tottenham Hotspur. 

The diminutive Nigerian finished off a Jamie Vardy cross to score his second goal in as many weeks for the defending English Premier League champions.

Cameroon defender Joel Matip was another African scorer in the Premier League with his goal helping joint leaders Liverpool to a 4-2 victory at Crystal Palace.

ENGLAND

YANNICK BOLASIE (Everton)

Another vibrant star turn from Everton's France-born Democratic Republic of Congo winger. The 27-year-old showed great alertness to beat Winston Reid to the ball, after Adrian parried Seamus Coleman's shot, and from that set up Romalu Lukaku for the opener for the hosts in their 2-0 win over West Ham.

JOEL MATIP (Liverpool)

The Cameroon defender, like his fellow Liverpool centre-back Dejan Lovren, got on the scoresheet for the Reds, scoring their third goal in the 4-2 win over Crystal Palace. The 25-year-old also emerged relatively unscathed from criticism of the defensive frailties unlike his defensive partner, who was at fault for both Palace goals.

AHMED MUSA (Leicester City)

The tricky Nigeria winger cost the champions the princely sum of £16.5 million ($20.1 million, 18.3 million euros) but he is beginning to repay that with some impressive performances. The 24-year-old's goal -- converting Jamie Vardy's cross -- earned The Foxes their first point away from home this term, a 1-1 draw with Spurs. It was also the second successive Premier League match he had scored.

VICTOR WANYAMA (Tottenham)

The Kenya midfield enforcer's muscular presence since arriving from Southampton in the close season has been a significant reason for the London club being unbeaten in their first 10 league games for the first time since 1990/91. However, he came unstuck against Leicester when his loose header fell to Vardy, who set up Musa for the goal. He came close to making up for that error when, in the dying seconds, he conjured up an excellent cross to pick out Jan Vertonghen. The Belgian's header beat Kasper Schmeichel, but not the woodwork.

SPAIN

KEVIN-PRINCE BOATENG (Las Palmas)

Boateng's eventful season continued as he prodded home Las Palmas' equaliser to round off a fine team move as the Canary Islanders came from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 with Celta Vigo. The retired Ghana midfielder now has four goals and a red card in just eight appearances for Las Palmas.

ITALY

MOHAMED SALAH (Roma)

Salah was one of several players to miss the target, on several occasions, as Roma were held to their first scoreless stalemate of the season at resolute Empoli. Salah desperately resorted to falling all too easily under a challenge in the area in the final minutes in a bid to earn a penalty, but earned a caution for his efforts. Roma remain second, four points behind Juventus.

KEITA BALDE (Lazio)

Lazio's 2-1 win over Sassuolo at an appreciative Stadio Olimpico moved Simeone Inzaghi's men up to fourth, six points behind leaders Juventus, and Keita played a pivotal role. A 20th-minute strike from the Senegal striker skimmed the post but he made amends with a fine delivery that Senad Lulic bundled into the net shortly after the restart.

GERMANY

OUSMAN MANNEH (Werder Bremen)

The refugee from Gambia, who only arrived in Germany two years ago, had little luck in Werder Bremen's 3-1 defeat at Freiburg. The 19-year-old pulled the shirt of Freiburg striker Karim Guede, who fell to the ground, and gave away a penalty on 39 minutes, which put Werder 2-0 up when Vincenzo Grifo converted the spot-kick. Manneh was dangerous in front of goal -- he had a first-half shot saved and fired just wide of the post after the break.

NABY KEITA (RB Leipzig)

The Guinea international put in a good performance as Leipzig stayed second, two points behind Bayern Munich, with a 2-0 win over Darmstadt. Marcel Sabitzer came off Leipzig's bench to score both goals, but Keita played well as an attacking midfielder.

PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG (Borussia Dortmund)

The Gabon hot-shot, who has scored seven goals in his eight league games, had a quiet night in Dortmund's frustrating goalless draw against Schalke. Aubameyang only touched the ball seven times over 90 minutes in the Ruhr derby, and just twice in the first half when Dortmund failed to have a single shot on goal. His best chance was a volley, which flew wide of the post in the final 10 minutes as Dortmund remain winless in their last four league games.

FRANCE

SOULEYMANE CAMARA (Montpellier)

Struggling Montpellier were deep in trouble: down to just 15 fit players because of injury and illness and losing 2-0 at basement side Lorient. But two minutes into stoppage time at the end of the first half, up popped the veteran Senegalese international striker to claw a goal back from close range. It was the 33-year-old's first goal of the season. The comeback was on and Montpellier later made it 2-2 to secure a useful point in the battle for survival.
