Doha: The Criminal Evidence and Information Department (CEID) organised yesterday an introductory meeting on INTERPOL Guidelines for Digital Forensics Laboratories in the presence of the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Brigadier General Jamal Mohammed Al Kaabi; Director of CEID Brigadier Nasser Abdullah Al Mahmoud; Director of the Forensic Lab Department Brig Adel Abdul Hamid al Emadi; and a host of learners from Joaan bin Jassim Academy for Defense Studies alongside several officers.
Brigadier General Jamal Mohammed Al Kaabi stressed the importance of the meeting in raising efficiency and developing digital laboratories’ capabilities, aiming to combat cybercrime. He praised the young Qatari competencies working in this field and urged the participants to take advantage of modern technologies to ensure security and prevent cybercrimes.
For his part, Brigadier Nasser Abdullah Al Mahmoud elucidated the importance of the meeting for the officials of the digital forensics at the Ministry of Interior and the other competent entities in the State of Qatar, especially that the meeting comes to introduce INTERPOL Guidelines for Digital Forensics Laboratories in a way that ensures quality and approving the cyber forensics in the local and international courts.
In addition, Captain Engineer Hamad Ahmed Al Mohammed from the Technical Assistance Section presented the goal of establishing digital forensics laboratories, addressing the digital forensics, their comprehension, principles and methods of establishing and managing the digital forensics laboratories.
