Doha: The Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council, HE Saad bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud returned to Doha after taking part in the 21st general conference of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation (ALECSO) held in Tunis. The 21st General Conference elected Dr Abdullah Hamad Mhareb, of Kuwait, as ALECSO Director General.
In its final recommendations, the conference urged upgrading the educational systems of the Arab countries particularly those of Somalia and Palestine. The Conference was held under the patronage of the Tunisian President Dr. Mohammed Al Moncef Al Marzouki. QNA
