Cairo: Grand Sheikh of Al Azhar Ahmed Al Tayeb met yesterday President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) Yousuf Al Qaradawi, where they discussed the role of Al Azhar.
Al Qaradawi became a member Al Azhar Islamic Research Council in a recent shake up that took place across all of Al Azhar institutes.
Al Tayeb said after the meeting that Al Azhar was currently undergoing its biggest reform process in its history. He said that reform was focused in particular on developing the syllabi, which sees Al Azhar return more to its roots.
