DOHA: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has honoured 17 schools for winning in contests as part of ‘The life of the Prophet’s Companions’ programme.
Five elementary, seven intermediate and five secondary schools were honoured.
Mohamed Al Mahmoud, Director, Da’wa and Religious Guidance Department at the ministry, said the programme about the life of the Companions of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) aimed to create a generation that is equipped with good Islamic knowledge by introducing the life of the Companions to students and involving them in the intensive educational programme which also included 70 lectures at schools. Contests were organised for schools at three levels.
The ministry plans to prepare a qualified and distinguished generation rich in Islamic culture, and deliver a message to everyone by highlighting Islamic values embodied in the life of the Companions as model. The Peninsula
