DOHA: A security guard of the Qatari embassy in Turkey’s capital city of Ankara suffered minor injuries late on Monday following a shooting incident targeting a car parked near the mission premises.
The embassy said in a statement yesterday that a car parked near its premises was fired upon by a hunting gun in which a security guard suffered minor injuries. The embassy statement said it was an isolated incident of shooting and the embassy was not targeted, Al Sharq reported. The Peninsula
An unknown person had parked his car near the mission premises and it was attacked.
“The incident will in no way affect the brotherly relations between our two countries of Qatar and Turkey,” said the mission statement.
“We are in a safe city and country and confident that the Turkish public security department will strengthen security measures around the embassy,” added the statement.
