Pakistani province Punjab’s Governor Rafique Rajwana has endorsed Punjab Civil Administration Ordinance 2016 after the Chief Minister’s nod.
According to the ordinance, the positions of District Coordination Officer (DCO) have been put to halt in Punjab. However, the Deputy Commissioners (DC) for all districts have been appointed throughout the province.
DCs will be able to hold court sessions in criminal cases as justice of the peace. Moreover, the performance of the Assistant Commissioner (AC) within the district will be accounted by the respective DC.
