Doha, Qatar: Hamad International Airport (HIA) has announced enhanced services and operational procedures in preparation for the anticipated increase in passenger traffic returning to Doha after the winter holidays.
In a statement released yesterday, HIA issued a set of guidelines for a smooth and comfortable travel experience during this season.
The statement highlighted that, for faster passport control, eligible passengers can utilize the e-gate service, including families traveling with children taller than 130 cm.

Regarding baggage claim, the airport confirmed that upon arrival and after completing passport control, passengers can easily collect their luggage from the numbered baggage carousels.
The carousel numbers are displayed on screens in the baggage claim area. HIA explained that oversized luggage, such as strollers and wheelchairs, is checked on dedicated belts, and passengers are advised to check their baggage tags before leaving the baggage claim area. The baggage services desk in the arrivals hall also provides assistance to all passengers, ensuring a seamless check-in experience.
HIA emphasized that using the parking facilities remains the preferred option during peak hours, as it facilitates traffic flow and helps avoid congestion on the sidewalk outside the arrivals terminal.
HIA offers several transportation options from the arrivals terminal.
These include authorised taxis available at designated taxi stands within the arrivals hall, buses at the bus stop, and ride-hailing apps like Uber and BadrGo, which provide shuttle services at the designated pick-up area. Passengers can also access the Doha Metro via a short internal walkway connecting the arrivals terminal to the metro station. Car rental, limousine services, and valet parking are also available.
HIA welcomed all passengers and affirmed that its staff are always ready to provide a smooth travel experience throughout the airport.
