Qatar’s steadfast positions will not be deterred by Israeli arrogance that has breached all international and moral laws. Qatar has always believed in peace, harmony, and dialogue as the means to resolve conflicts.
Qatar considers working for peace an essential part of its national identity. Therefore, the treacherous Israeli attack on it on Tuesday reflects a weakness in the moral fabric of the Israeli government and its Zionist orientations, which strive as much as possible to evade any form of international commitments.
This “escape forward” is the method of Israeli PM Netanyahu, who shirks the obligations of peace and struggles to perpetuate the war on Gaza—spreading it to Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and finally, Qatar.
Through this reckless course, he seeks to achieve personal interests, foremost of which is clinging to power, regardless of the mounting calls for the fall of his government.
Here we affirm that such barbaric tactics will not succeed with Qatar, the land of peace. Qatar fully understands the value of peace and the challenges posed by rigid mentalities that see only the sound of weapons as a means to resolve conflicts.
The attack on Qatar is an act of betrayal and cowardice, for Qatar is sponsoring the peace process between Hamas and Israel, in cooperation with Egypt, and is striving to find a way to establish peace and stop the Israeli killing machine in Gaza—a machine that has spared neither elder, nor child, nor woman, but is exterminating all aspects of life in Gaza.
Our wise leadership has continued to receive calls from brothers and friends offering support, condemning and denouncing this cowardly aggression.
However, in light of the conduct of the current Zionist government, the international community needs to act to stop this arrogance and these acts of aggression, which violate international law and infringe upon the sovereignty of states and the safety of their peoples.
The State of Qatar is resilient against the actions of war criminals pursued by international courts, and no rogue power here or there will deter it from carrying out its role. The success and prominent standing that my country enjoys in international forums make it a respected and impartial mediator, sought after to bring about peace and open avenues of dialogue between disputing parties.
By the grace of Almighty Allah, Qatar will remain a haven of peace, security, and stability. It will not be harmed by those who attempt to tamper with global peace and security. The United Nations bears full responsibility to stand firmly against this cowardly aggression, which has targeted Qatar, a member of the UN, and to take serious steps to put an end to all forms of Israeli arrogance, which shows no respect for international laws and treaties.
