On every occasion and at every international, Arab, or regional forum, the State of Qatar spares no effort in advocating for the prevalence of reason and logic, resorting to dialogue, diplomatic channels, and other peaceful means to resolve disagreements, disputes, and conflicts. This is always preferred over any form of violence, especially war.
This approach truly represents the voice of reason and logic, as wars do not solve problems; instead, they create new ones and further complicate existing ones. They also inflict damage on all warring parties, deepen wounds, and intensify the suffering of citizens in countries plagued by conflicts, division, and wars.
Regardless of how long a conflict lasts or how severe is its impact, the warring factions and parties must eventually return to the negotiating table to find solutions to the issues that led to the conflict and ignited the war between them.
Just as the name of Qatar has become synonymous with sports, establishing itself as a “house of expertise” in this field, it has similarly become a “house of expertise” in mediating between conflicting parties. Its efforts in this area have successfully resolved many complex regional and international issues. Therefore, it is no surprise that Qatar has become a home for peace diplomacy and a trusted mediator for resolving disputes and conflicts, just as it is a preferred platform for hosting international, regional, and Arab sports championships.
The role that Qatar undertakes in peace diplomacy and conflict resolution would not have been possible had it not been a state enjoying security and stability. The people of Qatar understand more than anyone the value of the security and safety their country enjoys; they experience it every moment of every day.
Consequently, they reciprocate their political leadership’s love and loyalty in times of prosperity and hardship, because they feel the extent of the state’s efforts to provide them with a comfortable life, social, health, educational, and sports welfare, and other aspects of well-being.
Moreover, everyone blessed with living in this hospitable country, and those who have visited for a short or long period, recognize the extent of security and safety that Qatar enjoys.
They feel it from the very first day their feet touch the airport’s ground. On a personal level, whenever I return from any trip and my feet touch the ground of its international airport, which is considered one of the best airports in the world, I am filled with a completely different feeling – a feeling of profound psychological comfort, tranquility, immense reassurance, and a sense of safety that I rarely feel anywhere else.
The security and safety that Qatar enjoys did not come from a vacuum, nor did it happen overnight. Rather, it is the result of significant efforts undertaken by various state institutions, strategies and plans developed by specialists in their respective fields, and diligent and continuous work to implement those strategies and plans. Nothing comes from nothing, or progresses by self-propulsion; rather, it is the law of life based on work, and continuous work. This is what the State of Qatar spares no effort in doing for its citizens and residents on its land.
Just as we feel this state of stability, security, and safety in normal times, we also feel it amidst the current events, due to the ongoing war between Iran and Israel. Life continues as we know it, and absolutely nothing has changed.
We have absolute trust that the state is doing its utmost to provide all means of comfort for its citizens and residents, and spares no effort in taking all measures to ensure comfort, security, and tranquility for everyone. Furthermore, at the international level, it is making every effort, in coordination with world leaders, to expedite the resolution of this war and prevent its expansion, for the benefit of the countries in the region and the entire world.
May Allah protect Qatar, its people, and expatriates, and may He sustain security, safety, and stability upon them.
