Doha: The Qatar Stars League (QSL) has appointed Ahmad Al Harami as QSL’s Chief of Competition and Football Development.
Al Harami is considered as one of the new generation of young Qatari leaders. He has now moved to the next step of his career at the QSL.
From 2004 the Qatar Football Association implemented a programme to prepare and train many young Qatari leaders to take on important football roles in Qatar. Al Harami has worked in football with varies roles and responsibilities over the years. He worked as the Educational Director in the Under-17 Qatar national team in 2004, which was undertaken parallel to his studies in Physical Education and Sports Science at Qatar University.
After graduating he embarked on a Master’s Degree in the United Kingdom to study Football management. In addition Mr Al Harami participated in many seminars and courses for his personal development and has made many technical visits to various countries during the last ten years to gain knowledge and experience.
During his professional career in the world of football, he has worked in many positions such as the Department of Marketing and Competition and later became the supervisor for that department in the Qatar Stars League.
He has also ventured abroad, working as a general coordinator assistant for FIFA during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Then Al Harami worked as the Assistant General Manager of Department of Competition for the national team in the 2011 Asian Cup that was held in Doha, Qatar. He has also worked in the Development Project offices for his Excellency the president of the QFA, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Bin Ahmed Al Thani.
In addition to all these various activities and occupations Mr Al Harami was member of many committees and supervising many events and international friendly matches organised in Doha by the QFA.
Al Harami expressed his great pleasure for the confidence shown and the important responsibilities entrusted to him by the high level QSL management. He understands the magnitude and significance of the role he now plays in the QSL and will give all his knowledge and energies into helping improve the QSL as much as he can.
The appointment of Al Harami is a good example of the programme that was initiated back in 2004 to develop young Qatari leaders. The fruits of the QFA’s labour have seen a large amount of young Qatari talents who are now ready and expected to arrive shortly to Qatar’s professional football landscape in the coming years. The Peninsula
