Panel set up to address citizens’ disputes with ministry

DOHA: A panel has been set up under the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning to look into complaints from citizens related to disputes with the ministry, including claims for compensation. 
It will address complaints related to claims except those related to health.     
The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Sunday ratified the Cabinet decision No. 20 of 2014, establishing the grievances committee at the ministry.
It will comprise five representatives from the ministry to be selected by the minister. The head and deputy head of the committee will be appointed from the ministry.
Qatar Chamber will nominate a representative from the private sector and an observer from Audit Bureau. Membership will be for three years initially and the ministry has the right to extend it.
It will submit reports with recommendations to the ministry. No recommendation will be finalised without the minister’s approval.
