DOHA: The Qatari Men’s Junior Handball Team defeated their Slovenian counterparts 29-26 in a friendly match held in Doha on Monday.
The two teams will play another friendly match today.
The friendly matches come in light of the preparations for the 2016 Asian Men’s Junior Handball Championship to be staged in Amman, Jordan from July 22 to August 01. Thirteen teams will vie for honours in Amman and as the Qatari team is pooled in Group (D) alongside UAE, Iraq and China.
Meanwhile, the Qatari beach handball team will participate in the 2016 World Beach Handball Championship to be begin in Hungary on July 12.
