DOHA: Doha will be the first city in the Gulf to join 46 cities around the world for the international art movement, Wallpeople.
For the public art collaborative project, a wall has been put up at Katara where every one is welcome to post their photos starting Thursday until the end of the month.
This is expected to result in a mosaic of significant moments captured on lens which will add colour to the Ramadan season.
Everyone can participate by taking pictures at Katara’s Ramadan with family and friends or just a selfie.
There are three ways to have the photos on the mural — by publishing photos on Instagram and using the hashtag #katarastars, sending photos by email to katara.stars@wallpeople.org, or printing and bringing photos from 9pm to noon.
The wall is between building 18 and 16.
There are rules to be followed to be able to participate in the project.
The size of the photo should not be more than 10x15cm. Only pictures on photographic paper will be accepted. Photos with either offensive or revealing content will not be accepted.
Wallpeople is an international project which started in Barcelona in 2009.
It tries to promote creativity and reclaim public space as a way of expression.
Its events give an opportunity for those who have something to show to the world but cannot do it in a gallery or museum.
The project also provides chance for artists and designers to have greater visibility and promotes interaction between them.
