DOHA: Throughout Ramadan, Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) will distribute 9,000 Iftar meals (300 meals a day), water and juice bottles, and sweets to municipal workers in the Industrial Area.
The Iftar project for the third year in a row is financed by the Ritz Carlton Doha and the 24th Men’s Handball World Championship (Qatar 2015) Organizing Committee.
“The campaign aims to reach municipal workers at their workplaces so they do not have to go home or prepare group Iftar tables,” QRC said yesterday.
An exclusive QRC volunteer creation, the programme is different from the larger Iftar project conducted annually by QRC across the country.
Last Ramadan, 75,000 people received Iftar meals, and the number is expected to hit 84,000 this year, at a cost of QR1,350,000.
