Sessions to focus on Islamic world

DOHA: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs will hold sessions over the next one week on issues concerning the Islamic world, including extremism and Islam’s position on it.
Coexistence and relations between communities are among the topics to be discussed. Sessions will take place from tomorrow until the 12th day of Ramadan, corresponding to July 10 under the theme ‘Secure Them from Fear’.
The ministry has scholars and thinkers from Qatar and abroad to present the topics, Qatar News Agency has reported.
The session will discuss issues of cultural security from an Islamic perspective and topics such as the reality of Islamic discourse, Islamic religious education and means to combat hate speech, extremism and Islam’s stance on it, challenges facing the Islamic world, the issue of coexistence and community relations and the importance of worship and value of time in the life of a Muslim.
