Doha, Qatar: Qatar will host two major global events this November.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), in partnership with the GSMA, will organise the second edition of MWC26 Doha, alongside the Communications Regulatory Authority’s hosting of the International Telecommunication Union Plenipotentiary Conference (PP-26).
The concurrent hosting of the two events reflects Qatar’s growing role as a global destination that brings together technology, policy, and innovation. It also provides an unprecedented opportunity to connect global digital policy directions with the developments and practical applications shaping the future of the communications and technology sector.
Organised by the GSMA in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, MWC26 Doha will take place at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center from November 8 to 10 2026.
Holding both events at the same venue will allow PP-26 delegates to move from discussing global policies and directions to directly exploring, through MWC26 Doha, the latest technologies, solutions, and applications shaping the future of the communications and technology sector.
Minister of Communications and Information Technology, H E Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, said: “We are proud to host both MWC26 Doha and the International Telecommunication Union Plenipotentiary Conference (PP-26) alongside one another this year, reflecting Qatar’s growing role in shaping the future of global connectivity and telecommunications policy. Hosting the two events reinforces Qatar’s commitment to achieving the objectives of the Digital Agenda 2030 and Qatar National Vision 2030 as we continue working to build a thriving digital economy and a sustainable digital society.”
For his part, Engineer Ahmad bin Abdulla AlMuslemani, President of Qatar’s Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) and Chair-Designate of ITU PP-26, said: “The Communications Regulatory Authority’s hosting of the Plenipotentiary Conference (PP-26), alongside MWC26 Doha, reflects Qatar’s leading role in shaping the future of global connectivity and its regulatory frameworks. Director General of the GSMA, Vivek Badrinath, said: “The inaugural edition of MWC Doha last year clearly demonstrated the scale of Qatar’s digital ambition. MWC26 Doha will also see the return of the GSMA Ministerial Programme, which provides a high-level platform for discussing digital governance and investment priorities and supporting the next phase of connectivity development. The programme brought together 60 delegations from 49 countries and 11 intergovernmental organisations during its previous edition.
