Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index gained 198.82 points, or 2.05 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 9,913.75 points.
Trading value during the week increased by 86.93 percent to reach QR1.49bn compared to QR801.42m.
Trading volume increased by 163.50 percent to reach 65.45 million shares, as against 24.84 million shares, while the number of transactions rose by 26.43 percent, to reach 16,608 transactions as compared to 13,136 transactions. Market cap rose by 1.72 percent to reach QR533.88bn as compared to QR524.87bn at the end of previous week.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value last week with 33.02 percent of the total traded value. Telecoms sector accounted for 25.18 percent. Industries sector accounted for 19.54 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted 8.34 percent. Telecoms sector led traded volume last week with 57.48 percent of the total traded volume. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 18.71 percent. Industries sector accounted for 8.49 percent and Real Estate sector accounted 7.92 percent.
Telecoms sector led traded number of transactions last week accounting for 29.99 percent of the total number of transactions. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 25.46 percent. Industries sector accounted for 15.31 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 11.25 percent.
Of the 44 listed companies, 28 ended higher, while 14 fell and two remained unchanged. Vodafone Qatar led trading value last week accounted for 21.98 percent of the total trading value.
QNB accounted for 12.71 percent and Commercial Bank accounted for 7.10 percent, reports QNA.
When compared on daily basis, the index gained 119.92 points, or 1.22 percent, yesterday compared to Wednesday’s closing.
The volume of shares traded decreased to 12.73 million from 36.43 million on Wednesday and the value of shares also decreased to QR370.36m from QR652.40m on Wednesday.
