DOHA: About 20 work papers, comprising a number of subjects and issues related to infrastructure and its direct impact on improving the living standards in the Gulf societies were presented on the second day of the Eighteenth Gulf Engineering forum witnessed the discussion of around.
The work papers highlighted the role of green buildings in improving the quality of environment; the papers also discussed the best practices in infrastructure management.
Through work papers, the participants discussed a number of subjects related to modern practices in the management of engineering projects and the designs of transportation projects, local roads, and projects that maintain the safety and the environment, and provide special services for people with special needs. The participants discussed as well the Qatar Specifications for Construction.
The second day of the forum began with a lecture that presented an overview about the Lusail City in Qatar, which covers a total area of 38 km and is an integrated city with entertainment and housing venues along with public facilities, and which accommodates 200,000 residents and 170,000 employees, and can receive 80,000 visitors; enabling it to embrace 450,000 people. Lusail City comprises 22 high rank hotels, and will become an element that attracts investment to the state of Qatar.
