Heir Apparent at falcon fest

The Heir Apparent H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani attended yesterday the awards ceremony for the winners of the Qatar International Falcons and Hunting Festival 2013. The event was held at the Cultural Village Foundation, Katara.

Doha: The United Arab Emirates won the International Qatar Falconry Festival third time in a row.

Thani Al Falasi from UAE won the tournament in the Al Mazain category, bagging QR500,000. The second place went to Faisal Mohammad Hanzab with a prize-money of QR300,000. Third prize winner Mubarak Ibrahim Al Buainain went away with QR200,000.

H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, under whose patronage the festival was held, distributed the prizes.

In ‘Al Tala Al Hur’, one of the competitions of the festival, Abdul Hadi Hamad Al Marri, took first prize. 

Muhammad Mubarak Al Mansoori came second while Hamad Ali Al Marri took third prize.

In the Hudud Ad Tahadi section, no one could qualify for the grand prize. The award for this competition was a Lexus car, which was ultimately given to the winner of a raffle draw. 

The rest of the five winners of the same competition were Saleh Al Marri, Ali Al Mahshadi, Saleh Al Sharia Al Marri, Mohammad Saleh Al Qamra Al Nabit, Al Mohammad Al Khatir. Each received a prize money of QR100,000.

In the Ad Dow Mahali Farkh Hur competition, first prize went to Abdul Wahab Umair Al Naimi, second to Abdul Aziz Mubarak Al Maadid and the third prize was bagged by Khalifa Nassir Al Naimi. 

In Dow Qarnas Hur, Khalifa Nassir Al Naimi won first place, while Khalifa Mohammad Al Misnad won second and Misnad Mohammad Al Misnad was declared the third place winner.

Mohammad Khabab Al Naimi, Abdul Aziz Mubarak Al Maadid, Mohammad Saleh Al Marri won first, second and third prize respectively in the Ad Dow Qarnas Al Shaheen competition.

Meanwhile, in the Hudad Salooki, first prize was won by Khalil Ibrahim Al Tamimi. He went away with a brand new vehicle. The second and third prizes were jointly bagged by Khalid Mohammad Al Sulaiti with a prize money of QR50,000 and QR40,000.
