Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) Index declined 30.95 points or 0.29 percent to close at 10,721.15 points yesterday. On the weekly basis, the index lost 204.25 points or 1.87 percent.
The volume of shares traded yesterday increased to 14 million from 9.2 million yesterday and the value of shares increased to QR449.39 million from QR345.83 million. From the 44 companies listed on QSE, shares of 38 saw trading. From these 21 gained and 16 companies closed lower while one company remained unchanged yesterday. Indices of three sectors ended in green and four sector ended in red today. QSE Total Return Index dropped 0.29 to 17,550.29 points. QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index was down 0.16 percent to 4,123.44 points and QSE All Share Index decreased 0.44 percent to 2,977.16 points.
Trading value during last week increased by 14.62 percent to reach QR 2.39bn compared to QR2.08bn. Trading volume increased by 8.49 percent to reach 61,369,976 shares, as against 56,569,141 shares, while the number of transactions fell by 1.95 percent, to reach 25,600 transactions as compared to 26,109 transactions.
Market capitalisation fell by 1.97 percent to reach QR577.20 as compared to QR588.82bn at the end of previous week. Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value this week accounted for 33.47 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 19.68 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 14.93 percent and Insurance sector accounted for 11.90 percent.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions this week accounted for 32.73 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 24.07 percent.
Real Estate sector accounted for 17.09 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 11.73 percent.
From the 44 listed companies 17 ended this week higher, while 27 fell.
QNB led trading value during this week accounted for 10.43 percent of the total traded value. Barwa Real Estate accounted for 8.79 percent and Qatar General Insurance & Reinsurance accounted for 6.03 percent.
