Kolkata: The Election Commission yesterday announced there would be no repolling in any of the West Bengal booths where balloting was held on Wednesday for nine Lok Sabha seats from the state.
“There will be no repoll in any polling stations,” the poll panel said in a press note.
Accusing the ruling Trinamool Congress of “massive rigging”, the opposition parties had alleged that their polling agents were threatened and driven out, and voters intimidated.
The Left Front had demanded repolling in 825 booths spread over seven Lok Sabha constituencies — Arambagh, Burdwan East, Burdwan-Durgapur, Howrah, Uluberia, Bolpur and Birbhum.
The BJP had sought repolling in all constituencies.
