Kabul: At least two Nato service members and one ISAF civilian were killed following militants attack and roadside bomb blast in eastern Afghanistan late on Saturday. Nato-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) following a statement said that one International Security Assistance Force service member and one ISAF civilian were killed during a direct fire attack in eastern Afghanistan, according to Afghan (Khaama Press).
In a separate statement, ISAF announced that a service member was killed during an improvised explosive device attack in eastern Afghanistan. The statements did not disclose further information regarding the exact locations of the incidents and nationalities of the deceased soldiers and the ISAF civilian. At least 68 Nato service members including 55 US soldiers, six British soldiers and seven soldiers from the other Nato member countries have been killed in Afghanistan since the beginning of 2012.
Peace Committee member shot
Islamabad: A member of Peace Committee was killed while another sustained injuries in a firing incident in north west Pakistan yesterday. Unidentified assailants opened fire at two member of the peace committee, killing one of them and injuring the other, Pakistan’s Geo News reported, adding that police has kicked off the investigation. Meanwhile, a remote control bomb targeting a vehicle of security forces exploded on Miranshah road near Esha Check Post in Bannu, injuring two personnel.
