Indian man killed after TikTok dispute escalates into fatal attack in UAE: Report

DOHA: An Indian national was killed in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, following a dispute that reportedly began during a TikTok live session and later escalated into a deadly confrontation, according to a report by Gulf News.

The report said Sharjah Police confirmed the death of Ismail Ponnan Ibrahim Kutty, a 40-year-old employee at a bakery in Dubai.

Authorities also confirmed that several suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.

According to the report, the dispute began after a verbal altercation between Kutty and other social media users during a TikTok live broadcast.

The disagreement allegedly escalated, with both sides agreeing to meet in person.

The fatal confrontation reportedly took place at around 8am on Sunday in a public park in Sharjah. Gulf News reported that Kutty was allegedly stabbed and assaulted with sharp objects during the altercation.

Witnesses at the scene alerted police and emergency services, the report said.

Sharjah Police said investigations into the incident are ongoing.
