TOKYO: Japanese midfielder Shinji Kagawa (pictured) has vowed to fight for his place at Manchester United even though he has not featured in any of the club’s Premier League matches this season.
The 24-year-old arrived in Japan on Monday ahead of international friendlies against Guatemala and Ghana, desperately short of playing time under new manager David Moyes.
But asked whether he would be staying at Old Trafford, Kagawa, reportedly the subject of interest from his former club Borussia Dortmund in Germany and Atletico Madrid of Spain, said “Yes that’s right”.
“Tough times are continuing, but all I can do is to work hard,” he added, according to news reports yesterday. AFP
