University of South Carolina students during a live classroom session.
Doha: Starting this fall, the University of South Carolina is offering its number-one-ranked Master of International Business programme to students in Doha through the Live to Classroom technology. Founded in 1919, the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business has been ranked as the top Masters’s programme in International Business in the United States for the past 23 years.
Recognising the dynamic nature of global business, the Master of International Business programme is designed to empower students to compete and succeed in profoundly diverse environments worldwide. Students will learn to think differently, act thoughtfully, and navigate a landscape of constant change. This programme is a compass for mastering a world in motion, and it is unique in its focus on political, economic, and socio-cultural dimensions of global business.
Using cutting-edge technology, the Live to Classroom technology platform allows students to earn a degree from UofSC’s main campus in Columbia, South Carolina, without leaving Doha. The globally recognised, industry-leading faculty are presented live to screens and classrooms in the facilities at the Aspire Zone. These faculty interact with students in real-time, just as if they were physically present — lecturing and answering questions, supplying feedback, drawing up polls and surveys. This degree programme has been approved by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar.
This environment creates a personalised level of exchange equal or superior to that in a face-to-face classroom. The fully synchronous experience ensures students can speak up at any time and be seen and heard by the instructor and other students.
This environment creates a level of engagement where students and teachers come across as themselves and show their personalities through interactions and behaviours. In the rapidly changing world of technology, this approach represents a revolutionary step toward what will become the new norm in the post-COVID future.
The current students in the first cohort of the programme will earn the same degree as other students enrolled at Darla Moore School of Business on the main campus in South Carolina. They will be taught by the same instructors and receive the same quality of education as if they were sitting in a classroom in the United States.
The school stated that it is thrilled to welcome Darla Moore School of Business students as the inaugural class of Masters of International Business in Doha.
