As the date of the long awaited Italian Super Cup TIM match between Juventus and AC Milan in Qatar approaches, the organisers started selling the first batch of tickets for sale on the Qatar Football Association (QFA) web site, www.qfa.qa today from 12 noon.
When you click on the link you will be prompted to enter your email and you join a vitual line for buying tickets. The line keeps moving till your chance comes. They will also alert you over the email when your turn comes. You have 20 minutes to complete your purchase once your turn comes.
The Supercoppa TIM will take place at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium – home of Al Sadd Sports Club, on December 23 at 7.30pm and will see Juventus, the 2015-16 Serie A Champions and the 2015-16 Coppa Italia, and AC Milan, 2015-16 Coppa Italia runners-up in action.
The hosting of this important cup was officially announced on October 3 during the Aspire4sport Global Summit on Football Performance and Science held in Amsterdam.
The local organising committee, which includes representatives of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC), the QFA, and Qatar Stars League (QSL), is anticipating that the first batch of online tickets will sell in a matter of hours after their release.
Each fan can buy up to four tickets from either category 1 tickets (QR 250) or category 2 tickets (QR 150).
The organisers have also revealed that tickets will go on sale in shopping malls across Qatar, which will be announced at a later date on QFA’s social media channels. Held annually, the first edition of the historic Supercoppa TIM was held in 1988, with Juventus holding the record of most wins in this competition, followed immediately by AC Milan, with seven and six wins respectively.
Hosting this cup in Qatar for the second time is a reflection of the strong relationship between the Italian and Qatari football governing bodies and the highly successful organisation in Doha of the 2014 Supercoppa TIM between Juventus and Napoli, all key factors for the return of the event to Qatar.
It is the second time that the Italian Super Cup TIM will be played in the Qatari capital.
In December 22, 2014, the 27th edition of the Italian Super Cup TIM was played between Juventus and Napoli at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium – home of Al Sadd Sports Club and was won by Napoli on penalties.
