Paris: Paris Saint-Germain extended its winning streak to four matches on Saturday, rallying from a 1-0 deficit to defeat Strasbourg 3-1 and take the temporary lead in the French Ligue 1.
Giovanni Reyna put Strasbourg ahead in the 17th minute, but PSG responded late. Illia Zabarnyi equalized in the 77th minute, and substitute Ousmane Dembele scored the go-ahead goal in the 85th. Desire Doue sealed the victory in the 93rd minute.
Dembele was the match's pivotal figure, contributing to all three goals despite missing a penalty. He set up Zabarnyi's equalizer, scored the winning goal, and played a key role in the third.
With the win, PSG climbed to 14 points, leading Monaco on goal difference. Monaco, which sits second with 13 points, will face Lorient on Sunday. Strasbourg dropped to 7 points in 12th place after its third consecutive loss.
The victory comes ahead of PSG's highly anticipated Champions League clash with Barcelona in three days, following its recent 4-2 win over Manchester City in the competition.
Friday's slate opened with Toulouse's 3-0 win over Le Mans. The remaining matches on Sunday include Troyes vs. Lens, Lille vs. Brest, Angers vs. Marseille, Le Havre vs. Auxerre, Paris FC vs. Rennes, Lorient vs. Monaco, and Lyon vs. Nice. (QNA)
