Doha: World Malayali Council (WMC) Qatar province marked the Kerala Piravi celebrations with a variety of cultural programmes. The celebrations, held on the Zoom platform, saw eminent socio-cultural leaders from the region.
Noted lyricist Bichu Thirumala, veteran mohiniyattam artist Gopika Varma and Padmashree Rasool Pookkuty attended the function as guests of honour.
WMC Global Chairman Dr. A V Anoop inaugurated the event, while Qatar Chairman V V Narayanan gave a talk at the event.
President of WMC Qatar, K Girish Kumar, presided over the function. Johny Kuruvila, WMC Global President, declared the youth wing formation while WMC Global Secretary-General C U Mathai felicitated the gathering.
The programme was coordinated by a team of leaders headed by Vice-Chairmen Jeby K John, Col. D P Pillai, Vice-Presidents Vidhya Renjith, George John, Sam Kuruvila, Youth Wing President B M Fazal and General-Secretary Vipin Das.
