Kabul: A high ranking Afghan military delegation is to visit Pakistan to discuss security issues, including security of the areas divided by Durand Line.
A Pakistani Foreign Office official said the delegation is expected to visit the Afghan-Pakistan border with Pakistani military officials to assess situation, according to Khaama Press.
“We urge Afghan authorities to take action against TTP hideouts inside Afghan territory and not give them space,” the official said.
Pakistan is accused of rocket firing into Afghan territories in recent years by Afghan government and independent bodies.
Several people in eastern Kunar and Ningarhar provinces have been killed by attacks and thousands fled to safer areas.
Though the Afghan government shared the issue with UN Security Council, there is no sign of any improvement from Pakistani side.
The Pakistani government said it would like to work closely with the new Afghan government and wished a peaceful and smooth transition of power in Kabul.
Kabul also blames Islamabad and its neighbour Iran for supporting militants fighting Afghan forces in southern Helmand province.
