Consumer price index in the Turkish markets increased in June by 4.95 percent on a monthly basis, compared to May.
According to the reports of the Turkish Statistical Institute released on Monday, inflation increased year-on-year in June by 78.62 percent.
The Consumer Price Index in Turkey measures the changes that occur in the general level of prices, based on tracking a basket that includes all goods and services consumed.
In a statement, the Institute said that the producer price index during June rose by 6.77 percent month-on-month, while it increased by 138.38 percent year-on-year.
Global commodity prices are witnessing consecutive rises, driven by the consequences of the war in Ukraine, as energy prices jumped, led by oil and natural gas, and food prices, led by grains.
