The UAE Ministry of Defence said on Tuesday that the country's air defence systems had detected a missile threat directed towards the UAE.
The ministry urged the public to follow warnings and updates issued through official channels.
It added that any sounds heard were the result of air defence systems carrying out interception operations against the threat.
The ministry affirmed its full readiness to respond to any threat and take the necessary measures to safeguard the UAE's sovereignty, security and stability.
