Qatar, Moldova sign air transport agreement

DOHA: The State of Qatar and the Republic of Moldova have signed an air transport agreement after talks the two sides held at the Civil Aviation Authority headquarters in Doha.
 
According to the agreement, sky will be open for the national carriers of the two countries to operate a number of unlimited passenger and cargo flights via any intermediate or points beyond .
 
Ibrahim Abdul Qadir Al-Janahi, the director of the Air Safety Department signed the agreement for Qatar while Eugen D., the Deputy Director General of the Moldovan Civil Aviation Authority signed for his country.
 
Qatar is the first Arab country to conclude such an air transport agreement with Moldova.
 
The Moldovan cabinet members approved a decision on starting negotiations and initializing an agreement between the governments of Moldova and Qatar on air services.
 
The cabinet appointed a group of negotiators led by Deputy Transport and Roads Infrastructure Minister Vladimir Cebotari.
 
The agreement refers to the freight and passenger transport. The final goal is to create conditions for initiating air flights and attracting certain traffic via Chisinau.
 
Moldova and the State of Qatar established diplomatic relations in March 1997. The first visit of a Moldovan prime minister to Qatar took place in December 2012.(QNA)
