DOHA: Sheikha Athba Al Thani, Chief Support Services Officer, QDVC, launched the annual “Serge Moulene Qatarization Awards” in a ceremony attended by QDVC Executive Committee members and heads of departments.
The Serge Moulene Qatarization Awards have been initiated to honour the outstanding service of the late Serge Moulene.
“In the memory of Serge Moulene, we are all today committed in continuing his vision and we are celebrating these first Qatarization Awards under his name with a lot of respect and modesty”, said Sheikha Athba Al Thani.
The first award aims to foster QDVC’s recognition of line managers’ contribution to encouraging Qatari employees to acquire new skills, and ensure the transfer of know-how and expertise useful to building a strong career.
The second award is exclusively dedicated to Qatari employees who made a significant contribution to meeting the Qatarization target and made appreciable efforts in transferring know-how to other Qatari employees.
The two first winners of the Serge Moulene Qatarization Awards were Henry Lemaire, the former QHSE manager in the category “Best Line Manager of year 2014”, for his extensive work with Qatari employees and his efforts to train them and supervise their initiatives, and Eng Saad Al Mansouri in the category “Best Qatari Employee of Year 2014.”
Saad took the position of Deputy QHSE manager in QDVC in 2012 after completing his undergraduate studies at Bordeaux University, and is playing a considerable role in this sensitive department which looks after the health and safety of the 3,000 employees of QDVC.
“It is a great privilege to receive today this Qatarization Award, which is an important milestone in my career within QDVC and will encourage me to continue my efforts with Qatarization initiatives to inspire young Qataris to embark upon a career in the field of construction,” said Eng Al Mansouri.
