Doha: The competitions of Al Tala Championship was held yesterday for groups 16, 17, and 18, while it was decided to postpone groups 19 and 20 due to wind and low visibility.
As a result of the competitions, falcon of Abdullah Ahmed Al Dhabet Al Dosari qualified for 17th group, while no one qualified for the 15th and 16th groups.
The championship is being organised under the 13th Qatar International Falconry & Hunting Festival (Marmi), under the patronage of H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani. Organised by Qatar Al Gannas Society, the Festival will continue until January 29. Muhammad bin Mubarak Al Ali, Head of Al Tala Committee, said: “The fourth day’s competitions started early. Three groups competed, but because of the wind the competitions of group 19 and 20 were postponed to ensure the safety of falconers and their birds.”
He explained that Al Tala is one of the most important festivals, and there is strong competition, and the tournament is continue and the coming days will be more exciting and competitive.
For his part, falconer Abdul Rahman Abdullah Ahmad Al-Dhabet Al-Dossary said, “I participated today on behalf of my father, Abdullah Al-Dosari, because we are hunters I have participated in the festival since my childhood with its first launches in the Young Falconry and the Promising Falconer Championships. From here, I have received experience in dealing with birds and hunting.”
For his part, Ali Ghanem Al-Ghanim, captain of the Mesaimeer team, said that the team was not successful today in hunting cometition of Hudad Al Tahadi, despite the good performance, since this is the beginning of the team’s participation in the goal of 2022, and therefore we still have the opportunity to compete.
