Doha, Qatar: Gem Team, the flagship enterprise communication platform developed by Gem Soft, returned to Web Summit Qatar in 2026 for the third consecutive year, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the region’s rapidly evolving digital ecosystem.
Gem Soft and Gem Team are participating in Web Summit Qatar for the third time. Continued participation in the summit reflects both the company’s strategic focus on the Middle East and Qatar’s growing role as a hub for secure enterprise technologies and international technology collaboration.
In an exclusive interview with The Peninsula, Oleg Lipovetskiy, Executive Director of Client Relations, said that the rapid changes of recent years have reshaped both the global technology landscape and the company’s approach to product development, placing cybersecurity at the core of its strategy.
“The world has changed quite harshly and rapidly in the past several years, and so have we. Cybersecurity comes first for us,” he said.
He explained that Gem Soft is focused on combining enterprise-grade security with a smooth and intuitive user experience; two priorities that are often at odds with one another.
“Cybersecurity is complicated on its own, and user fluidity and ease of use are almost the opposite,” Lipovetskiy said. “Our goal is to find that golden medium where enterprise-grade security meets user convenience.”
He stressed that the summit’s ability to bring together decision-makers, partners, and technology leaders in one place makes it an effective venue for showcasing solutions and building long-term relationships.
“We can meet the right people and showcase our products all under one roof here in Qatar,” Lipovetskiy said.
During the previous edition of Web Summit Qatar, Gem Soft initiated discussions with Transfero, a global fintech company specialising in digital assets and cross-border payment infrastructure.
This year’s summit marked a notable step forward, with an increase in formal engagements and partnership milestones.
Lipovetskiy said that Gem Soft signed multiple memoranda of understanding (MoU) and participated in official ceremonies, signaling deeper collaboration with regional partners.
What began as exploratory dialogue in early 2025 has now evolved into a formal MoU signing at this year’s summit. The MoU establishes a strategic framework for cooperation at the intersection of secure enterprise communications, fintech platforms, and scalable digital ecosystems.
Under the agreement, the parties will assess the integration of advanced financial technology solutions, including digital assets and cross-border payment infrastructure, into the Gem Space SuperApp ecosystem. In parallel, the collaboration will evaluate the potential deployment of Qatari-developed secure enterprise communication technologies within Transfero’s global operations.
Beyond agreements, Lipovetskiy also highlighted the company’s client-centric model, which emphasises customisation without compromising security standards. Each engagement begins with listening closely to client needs, followed by hands-on testing.
“We tailor our approach individually to every specific client,” the Executive Director said. “They test our products for up to a month, then come back to us and tell us what they need for their specific use case.”
That feedback-driven process allows the platform to remain dynamic and adaptable while maintaining its cybersecurity framework. “We offer tailored solutions without jeopardizing the enterprise-grade security we provide,” Lipovetskiy said.
Alongside partnership announcements, Gem Team presented its technology at a dedicated exhibition stand, offering visitors a hands-on view of its enterprise communication architecture.
A central feature of the stand was the Gem Team Pod, a portable, pre-configured secure communication unit that integrates hardware and software into a single sovereign environment.
Designed for rapid deployment, the Pod demonstrates how organizations can operate encrypted messaging, voice, and video communication entirely within customer-controlled infrastructure, without reliance on public cloud services or external data processing.
Web Summit Qatar has become an increasingly important platform for advancing relationships. Lipovetskiy said both the event and the company’s regional presence have grown steadily year after year.
“Web Summit has been growing here in Qatar every year, and so have we,” he said. “We keep getting a bigger stand every year.”
For many attendees, the Gem Team Pod illustrated a practical response to growing concerns around data sovereignty, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience.
Gem Team itself is a secure corporate messenger built for enterprise and government organisations with high requirements for confidentiality, compliance, and operational control.
