Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) has announced its comprehensive Ramadan programme lineup for the holy month of Ramadan 2026, across its television channels and radio stations. The announcement was made at a press conference at QMC premises yesterday.
The Ramadan schedule features a wide range of religious, cultural, social, educational, and entertainment programmes designed to cater to all segments of society, reflecting QMC’s mission to deliver purposeful media content that reinforces values and community cohesion during the holy month.
Speaking at the press conference, Saud Al-Maadeed, Assistant Director of Qatar Television and Director of Programmes, affirmed Qatar TV’s readiness for Ramadan, noting that the programming grid has been carefully curated to reflect the spirit of the holy month while highlighting Qatari identity and cultural heritage.
He explained that religious programming will constitute 42 percent of the total Ramadan content, emphasising values of faith, tolerance, moral conduct, and social solidarity.
Entertainment and drama programmes will each account for 15 percent, while a variety of programmes will make up 12 percent of the schedule. Children’s programmes will represent eight percent, alongside community awareness and social programmes airing throughout the month.
From Al Kass Sports Channels, Mohammed Al-Marzouqi, Head of Programmes Presentation, stated that the channel’s Ramadan preparations align with the principle of community partnership. Al Kass will present daily recorded programmes, including Tamreen, a daily half-hour fitness programme to be presented by Abdulrahman Al-Ashqar, airing before Iftar and focusing on healthy physical activity during Ramadan.
Al-Marzouqi also announced the launch of the 16th edition of the Al Kass Ramadan Tournament, organised in cooperation with the Qatar Football Association, running from the second to the 19th of Ramadan.
For the first time, the tournament will feature 24 teams competing across eight groups, with daily coverage and studio analysis on Al Kass channels.
Representing Qatar Radio, Mubarak Al-Kubaisi, Assistant Supervisor of General Programming, outlined the radio’s Ramadan programming structure, which includes religious, social, cultural, medical, variety, and news programs. Religious content will make up 43 percent, social and a variety of programmes 19 percent each, cultural programmes 10 percent, news five percent, and medical programmes four percent.
QMC’s foreign-language radio stations will also offer specialised Ramadan content. The French Oryx Radio service will present programmes such as Ramadan Library, Islam: Conduct and Practice.
Urdu Radio will air programmes, including Ramadan Memories, Bridges of Good, Ramadan and Children, Flashes from the Seerah, Pulse of Ramadan, and Homes of Blessings. The English QBS Radio will broadcast religious, cultural, and medical programmes in collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation, reinforcing institutional community partnerships.
Jaber Abdullah Al-Buraidi, Head of Religious Programmes at Qatar Quran Radio, announced an exceptional Ramadan season featuring comprehensive religious programming, including live shows, recorded programmes, short segments, and two full Quran recitations. Live broadcasts will cover Taraweeh, Qiyam prayers, Friday prayers, and religious lessons in cooperation with the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Qatar Charity.
Adel Abdullah, broadcaster and presenter at Sout Al-Khaleej Radio, highlighted the station’s long-standing tradition of offering diverse Ramadan programming, with a strong focus on short, impactful programmes that deliver meaningful messages. Among the most prominent live shows is a daily programme which hosts prominent figures from various fields to respond to listeners’ questions, continuing a legacy of hosting respected scholars and experts over the years.
